Lebron James and company hosted the Denver Nuggets last night in a game that screamed, “NBA Finals Basketball.” The two prominent stars, Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony, battled all night lighting up the stats sheet. James finished with 43 points, 13 rebounds, and 15 assists while Anthony showered 40 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists. It was a shoot-out all night between the two but it was Anthony who got the last laugh. Anthony hit his last 7 of 8 shots including the game winner with 1.9 seconds left with James missing his last 4 shots including the final shot of the game. The game was nothing short of incredible and after all said and done I kept telling myself, “I think I may have just got a 2010 NBA finals sneak peak.” Denver is playing terrific basketball this season and coach Karl’s health situation is just going to spark even more emotional motivation to keep the Denver road paved for the finals. I’m not disregarding the dominant Lakeshow and the red hot Jazz right now but I believe the Nuggets are making some NBA playoff noise this year. Moving to the East side, Cleveland isn’t going anywhere but holding down that top spot. Lebron is proving once again that he is hungry for an NBA title and the acquisition of Antawn Jamison can only be seen as a plus for the Cavs. A lot of basketball left this season but I wouldn’t mind catching that show again in the postseason.
