Dear Mr. Woods,

March 6, 2010

Dear Mr. Woods,

You’ve made your mistakes, you’ve lost a majority of sponsors, and your credibility has gone from 10 to -10 but guess what? You are still the best golfer to walk the planet and the golf world is not going to be the same with out you. The season has begun and you have already held out of multiple tournaments including next weekends colorful tournament at Doral but one of the best tournaments in golf is coming up real soon. I’m sure you can guess it because in multiple SI articles you have said it to be your favorite major to play in. THE MASTERS! I hate to quote Bob Costas on the CBS trailers but the Masters really is “a golf tradition unlike any other.” This tradition has made a name for itself because of players like you and relies on you to keep it decorated with epic success. It’s a fact that golf fanatics everywhere have a date with their recliners come Master’s Sunday because this tournament never disappoints. My dad is not a very sensitive guy and I have only seen the man cry twice. The first time was at his mother’s funeral. The second time was when you won the Masters in 2001. You disappointed a lot of fans in the world but the fact is we as legitimate sport fans still want to see your talented ass strike that golf ball again. So lace up those Nikes while their still sponsoring, hit the driving range, and we’ll hopefully see you on the 1st tee in Augusta, Georgia.

I completely agree with you. I believe that tiger should come back for the masters. I’ve been telling people that he should have only stopped for just a bit, but keep on going. If you remember Kobe Bryant’s thing; it was forgotten not to long after when he started winning again. Tiger’s offense wasn’t nearly as bad as Kobe’s, and I think that is what tiger needs to do. Just start playing and winning and people will forget.

well said. Best golfer to have played the game, give it a rest haters! I’m sick of him (or any celebrity) getting dragged through the dirt for lengthy periods of time, whether or not they did something wrong. Big deal about what happened…so he’s a douche for cheating on his wife. He still does damn good work. zip it up dirty little muckraking journos. Long live the Woods.

  3. Headnugz Says:

Yeah i sure hope he comes back from the masters and is that statement about your dad really true? hahahaha i dont think it is but that would be awesome. No matter what ill always love tiger! I think hell surprise us and come back to dominate and win us all back forever!

  4. While I am not a fan of golf to say the least, I have followed this whole Tiger situation, like the rest of the World. I do strongly believe that his personal life should not be relevant to his ability as an athlete. Whether or not what he did was wrong, it does not take away from his creditability as an athlete. Like I said earlier, by no means do I personally care if he shows up to the masters or not, I would hope he does! Tiger showing up to the masters is a chance to showcase his true abilities and take the focus off the scandal and hopefully refocus it on his talent!

I agree with you that Tiger is an amazing golfer that needs to continue to do what he does best. I am not sure if Tiger will end up being a Pete Rose. A lot of his reputation is going to ride on his ability to recover his golf game, go out there and put a few more trophies on his shelf.
